Welcome, and thank you for visiting. I am inspired by the wisdom of A.A. Milne and
believe it is important for everyone to have confidence in themselves. I am embarking on my
writing journey, demonstrating that personal growth and learning are possible at any age.
Never say never! Please follow me on Facebook or Instagram for updates, tips, and additional
inspiration. Thank you for your interest and remember- keep smiling.
My greatest joys come from simple things: the sounds of my grandchildren playing, my sons laughing, spending time with family, socialising with friends, nights in with my husband, or nights out listening to live music, and the love and loyalty I receive from my dogs. I enjoy tasty food and wine, but I am happiest outdoors, appreciating nature, taking long walks in the New Forest or by the beach. There is nothing like the excitement of travelling, discovering places, meeting people, and finding inspiration in the world around me. All these moments and memories fill my heart and inspire my writing.
I have spent most of my career in finance, surrounded by spreadsheets, meetings, and numbers. Pursuing an accounting qualification while raising a young family presented significant challenges, and although it provided a stable career path, I consistently sensed that something was missing. Eventually I took the leap to change and hung up my calculator, determined to find my creative side - the polar opposite to producing facts and figures. I decided to learn everything I could about the craft. It has been a wonderful journey of discovery and growth – one that continues to evolve with every story I write.
My goal as a writer is simple: to create stories that help the reader escape to a calmer dimension, to lift their mood leaving them in a lighter place than when they started. At present, I am concentrating on crafting short stories, perfect little escapes for busy lives, stories readers can relate to, stories to bring a smile to the reader’s face well beyond the final page. I also have a romance thriller novel in the works, I hope it will be the kind of book readers cannot put down, with an exciting sequel to follow. Hopefully I will be blessed with good health and an active mind to enable me to write many more stories.
The first short story in my collection is a light-hearted introduction to new beginnings, as Jules and her fiancé Olly attend their neighbourhood’s AGM after moving into their first home. Surrounded by quirky neighbours and odd traditions, Jules navigates the world of Silver Birch Crescent with humour and curiosity.
